The lodge is surrounded by the dense wilderness of Piedras Blancas National Park in Costa Ricas remote southern zone. It is located near the village of La Gamba, only three miles from the Interamerican Highway and a 30 minute drive from Golfito airport. At Esquinas, no more than 30 people at a time can be found exploring an area as large as Manuel Antonio National Park.
All of this lodge fourteen rooms offers a private bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan, full screening and a terrace. The large main building has a spacious, open living room, library, bar, and a restaurant offering high-standard cuisine only at a step from the dense jungle.
You must try their tropical cocktails and fruit juices, the exotic vegetables from their own garden, or the freshly caught fish from Golfo Dulce.
This hotel's beautifully landscaped tropical garden attracts more than 200 species of birds, colorful butterflies, coatis, monkeys, iguanas, caymans and many other animals.
You can also enjoy a chlorine-free pool which has a temperature of 80 degrees F. all year around and is fed by a crystal clear jungle stream.
A 10 mile long network of well marked trails, most of which lead through fascinating, untouched primary forest, departs directly behind the lodge.
